Participant since?

I don’t know if it has been discussed before, at least I couldn’t find the subject. What me wonders is the standard profile where the months are mentioned as ago. In my case I’m a participant since May 29th 2009 and this 40 months ago. If I count the months (with May 2009 and June 2012 in full) I come to 38 months. Counting from the date of May 29th 2009 the number of months is 37.

How is it possible that it says 40 months ago?

According to the information og my profile i joined yesterday, and that is true, but it aint 42 hours since i joined.
