Crashing often on Win8

Upgraded my computers to windows 8 (Fresh Install), but ever since WhatPulse has been crashing multiple times a day. I have installed the latest version of winPcap on both of my computers for win8 compatibility. I have already re installed what pulse (Latest Version) and removed the app data folders.

Willing to try any advice, thanks for the support in advance!

It simply doesn’t work on Win8. I am using 2.0.1 which seems to be the most stable version but I am still getting around 20-30 crashes per day even when my pc is idling.

A good solution that someone else suggested in a different thread is to use something called Restart on Crash.

Nice temporary fix, the Geek Window Opens up in the middle of my screen, but atlest i’m not losing any statistics.

It’s a nice workaround, but WhatPulse is really starting to annoy me. And I mean really!

I used to come home and start using my computer, but oh, wait, now I have to remember to check to see if WhatPulse is working if I want my stats to count. Half the time I forget, and other three quarters I forget to notice. What the hell…

I get it! But what makes it worse is, WAIT FOR IT: the “W” icon doesn’t disappear from the System Tray (after WhatPulse crashes). At least not until I remember to check and hover my mouse over the icon, which then disappears reminding me that WhatPulse had crashed at some point while I wasn’t looking. I don’t know how much of this is a Windows 8 related issue, but any way you look at it, I hate it and I wish it would stop.

just set the restart program to start with windows and your good, I’ve came home after it crashed 3 or 4 times and it’s been restarted every time.

Really this needs to be fixed I’ve tried the beta and everything nothing is being done to support users on windows 8,i have this issue on both of ym machines with windows 8. In the 2 hour time frame it crashed 21 times, a few of which only a few seconds apart.

We’ve determined that these are caused by the network per app stats. Disable that and it’ll behave. Working on a fix.
