WhatPulse not recording keys/clicks unless window in focus

I made a video that shows my problem:

Notice how the key count doesn’t go up at all while I was typing the passage. It doesn’t go up at all unless I have the window in focus. This happened after the client crashed one time while I was idling. Ever since then, whenever I start up the client, the problem persists. I’d like to continue using WhatPulse, but I don’t see what the point is if I have to have the window in focus the whole time :frowning: Help?

Actually, I seem to have fixed my issue by running the program as Administrator on Windows 7:

To anyone having the same problem: I recommend you do the same.

When booting WP up, it is always a good idea to run the program as an administrator.

Yes, administrator mode is required by WhatPulse for completely correct operation. Otherwise, it is prone to little glitches as it cannot use what it needs to operate properly.

Running WP2.0 as admin on Windows 8 causes it to crash… I think on my Windows 7 desktop 2.0 works ok though.

That’s odd? We’ll wait on Martijn to log that as a bug then. Could you get the error message it makes whenever it crashes for me?

Noticed it doesn’t also count keys on full screen windows (in my case, Visual Studio 2012 full screen) on my Windows 7 desktop (x64, Enterprise). Just lost 2+ hours of frantic coding :frowning:

Unhandled exception at 0x779AA94F (ntdll.dll) in whatpulse.exe: 0xC0000374: A heap has been corrupted (parameters: 0x779BE1E8).

When it crashes on Windows 8, that’s the best I could get other than the generic “stopped responding” windows message.

Duplicate issues, being worked on.
