It started in May 2021 when I upgraded my PC. Now I downloaded the version “2.8.1” - there were errors about “SSL” and something about server errors and statistics were not transmitted. I downloaded “2.8.3” and “2.8.4”, but everything is as before - the “Pulse” button does not work, “Bugs” are not sent.Even then I couldn’t install any new version of WP. They closed at startup immediately after installation and did not even open. I thought it was a problem with Windows (10, х64) and reinstalled it several times, which didn’t help. Then I found that the version “2.8.4” works for me and used it until the fall of 2021. I recently received an email that “You haven’t used WP for more than a month.” It turned out that it was somehow updated to a new version, well, it didn’t open at all. I installed “2.8.4” back, but now I can’t do anything there at all - the “Pulse” button does not work, the “Send bug” button does not work - I can write a text, but the information log does not load and the message is not sent. Statistics seem to be collected, but I can’t save it at all. Reinstalling versions does not help and what to do is unknown. The application is important to me and I would like to fix it somehow.

You’re using a very old client, please update to the latest, 3.6.

What kind of answering machine level response is this? I wrote above that no version higher than “2.8.4” opens on my computer (and so does my friend). Therefore, it is pointless to advise me to download something.

Because it’s so old, we can’t support that version. The main question is; why wouldn’t you be able to use the 3.x version? If it’s not opening, see if anything would block it (like antivirus) and check out the logs it generates - it’ll tell you something. https://help.whatpulse.org/kb/client/does-the-client-log-stuff

Well, if it was an antivirus, then there would be some warnings. And I can’t look at the logs, because the program doesn’t even open. The program works fine on a laptop, but it doesn’t work at all on a computer. Today I have already lost 330k+ clicks in a few days.

Version “3.1” does not open either. And “2.8.4” is not pulsing.

Hi Fluttermina,

It looks like there might be an issue with the special characters in your Windows username. If you could possibly confirm that by creating a new username on your computer that does not have any special characters and install & run the client there, that’d be great.

I’ll be trying the same thing in development mode and I’ll see to fix it in the upcoming version.

After the day of renaming the computer, everything worked!

In step 3, I had the error “the folder is in use and cannot be renamed”. I used “LockHunter” and clicked “Unlock It”. Renamed the folder. Then I renamed the path to the file in the registry and logged into the account (renamed). Everything worked. But there were no new keystrokes in the program, and the statistics from November 1 disappeared completely. I reinstalled “WhatPulse” and now everything works as it should. It’s just a pity that I lost 650k clicks and 85 GB of downloaded traffic (files?) for 2 months. But it seems like everything should work fine now.
