Pity the new version is otherwise very nice.

It’s not a continous connection, it’s simply a check to detect the current IP address.
First whatpulse.org is tried, then a few other servers.

But I have to admit that it’s a bug, the check shouldn’t happen if you have set “Work offline” in the settings. Will be fixed.
