This was the last version that worked well for me, but you can replace the version number with the one you want:

Whatpulse 2.0.1 works sort of for me. It runs, but tends to crash a lot. Using the restartoncrash tool to restart it whenever it dies ends up with me waking up to about 40 Whatpulse zombie tray icons that disappear on mouseover, which is weird, but it works. Kind of.

I’m having the same problem also except mine locks up for about 10-15 seconds. Really annoying when you’re trying to work.
